What this layer is

The Frozen Chasm is built around cold management. Ambient temperature sits near −30°C, and the player must move between Ion Space Heaters, Xaloris and Life-Pods to avoid freezing. Insulation helps, but it cannot solve a layer this cold on its own.

Snow Striders and Gunmines are the known threats. The layer is not playable in the demo, so exact routes and resources are still being documented. Treat every confirmed detail as pre-release information.

Pre-release information. This layer is not playable in the demo. Details come from developer updates, community datamining and pre-release material, and may change when the full game launches on November 9, 2026.

Field notes

  1. Plan a heat-source route before entering; do not wander in the cold.
  2. Insulation slows heat loss but does not generate warmth.
  3. Sleep inside a life-pod, not in the open.
  4. Carry a spare light; blizzards and darkness compound navigation errors.
Depth check: this layer ends at 1,800 m. The demo’s final layer is the Overgrown Depths at 1,500 m. The full game continues to 3,300 m.

Packing for the descent? Read the beginner guide, then check the injury system before you treat your first real wound.
