What this layer is

The Geothermal Vents are defined by extreme heat and Magma. Pools of molten rock and Lava Geysers make route planning a matter of temperature management, not just navigation. Even brief exposure can push core temperature toward heatstroke.

Laser Drones, Cryo Drones, Sawblades, Pistons, Ceiling Turrets, Coldpuffs and Spicevines add mechanical and biological threats. The layer is not in the demo; the details are pre-release and may change before launch.

Pre-release information. This layer is not playable in the demo. Details come from developer updates, community datamining and pre-release material, and may change when the full game launches on November 9, 2026.

Field notes

  1. Lower insulation or remove hot gear before crossing a vent field.
  2. Carry water and cooling items, not just healing.
  3. Use Cryo Drones as a temporary heat counter only if you can survive the cold.
  4. Never stand still on a vent; the floor is a timer.
Depth check: this layer ends at 2,700 m. The demo’s final layer is the Overgrown Depths at 1,500 m. The full game continues to 3,300 m.

Packing for the descent? Read the beginner guide, then check the injury system before you treat your first real wound.
