What it does
The E-PDA is the game’s lore delivery device. Reading one for the first time grants 35 INT experience and displays a note from the Corporation, a survivor or the planet itself. Later reads reopen the note but give no additional experience.
It requires a small battery and drains up to 25% of its charge per use. If you find one in a life-pod, the lightbulb battery in the same room is a convenient power source — though taking it may anger a survivor. Being Mindwiped prevents the note from being read and wastes the charge.
Effects and usage
- Grants 35 INT experience on first read.
- Displays a lore note; later reads give no experience.
- Requires a Small Battery; drains up to 25% charge.
- Value 6 and weight 0.1u.
How to get it
Life-pods and rare utility loot.
This item is found as loot or bought from survivors; it has no crafting recipe in the current demo build. Its value scales with condition, charge or fluid volume, so sell it only after checking the trade value.
Field notes
- Read every E-PDA you find; 35 INT is a significant early boost.
- Do not waste charge after a Mindwipe; you cannot read the note.
- Check the room for a lightbulb battery before searching elsewhere.
- Lore notes are collected on the wiki, but reading in-game is the only way to get the XP.
